The Cholomontas Oak Chair

40°25'N, 23°30'E — Chalkidiki

The Expedition

Found wedged between limestone outcrops on the northern face of Cholomontas after a six-hour ascent in early winter. The timber had been seasoning in the mountain air for decades, its grain tightened by frost and thaw into something closer to stone than wood.

The Craft

The Inventor stripped the bark by hand and let the natural fork of the branch dictate the angle of the seat. No templates, no jigs — the chair found its own geometry.
